SCHOOL PROGRAMME

It's not all wheelchairs and basketballs... we're on a mission to change the bleedy world!

We are committed to engaging and educating people with breaking down barriers around disability, inclusion and equality and one way we are doing this is through school deliveries. Post-Covid we have been going into schools and delivering wheelchair basketball sessions to be able to give kids the opportunity to truly experience an inclusive sport like wheelchair basketball. We want all people to understand that wheelchair basketball isn’t just for those that use a wheelchair or have a physical disability, it’s accessible for everyone and anyone can play.

“Aaron worked with both our Year 2 pupils and our change for life club. Both groups of children came away from the session absolutely buzzing about the new skills they had learned. There was a keen interest from the entire school as they walked past the activity and looked in on at what was going on, and this has led to more year groups requesting that they take part next year – so we will definitely book Aaron in again! Some of my Year 2 children have said that it was the highlight of their year, and we have also had some parent feedback suggesting that their children are interested in joining a wheelchair basketball club. I’d recommend Aaron to any schools looking to incorporate alternative and inclusive activities into their curriculum. Aaron was patient, professional and fun and the children really respected him. We can’t wait to book him in again next year – thanks Aaron!” – Thronbury Primary

“Mrs Mallett said they thoroughly enjoyed it and the second group couldn't wait to get on the court. The children were really engaged, and it surprised me how well they took to the rules and using the equipment. The children came back full of smiles and enthusiasm.”
